Legendary restaurant in Playa del Rey. Actual italian food (I am italian).

This place is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I feel like having a proper meal, this place comes straightaway to my mind. excellent and diverse food and a rich menu.generous staff, and good atmosphere. And very important, the tariff is affordable. I suggest this place with great pleasure.

Yummy Italian food. They will make dishes without meat if requested. Great selection of wine. Buono!

Once you came to this restaurant you are welcomed with open arms. The waiters are friendly and well informed. The menu has a good authentic Italian flair to it with reasonable portions. The menu was well prepared, service was attentive. Good wine selection.

This place is great. Best Italian food in LA, and it's right on the beach so a walk on the sand is easy. When I have guests, I take them here. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite places for quality Italian food. great place to meet and catch up with friends. had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again.

Their filet mignion is PERFECT and their tiramisu is DELICIOUS. They also give you very generous sized glasses of wine. It’s a liiiiiiiitle pricey but definitely worth every bite.The hostess is always wearing something that belongs more at a club than a nice restaurant in my opinion, but the servers and waitstaff are very attentive and charming. There’s one waiter in particular who is very tall with dark hair who is particularly wonderful. His good manners and warm demeanor help make for a great experience.

Fantastic chicken panini. Had a holiday work lunch here. The waiters were very attentive.

Food was delicious! Had the prosciutto e melone along with the seabass special. So good!

Beautiful food. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We took our two children with us and the staff were very patient and accomodating. The children loved their pizza and the adults enjoyed an authentic Italian meal.

An absolute gem! The food is divine and the location is quaint and romantic. Try the risotto or the branzino but honestly everything is delicious!

One of the best Italian restaurants in LA area. Absolutely loved my 3 course meal and the wine pairing was excellent.

Really nice ambiance, the food was excellent, as was the service. A few of the specials were sold out by the time my party got there (730/745), but there were more than enough other options. Worth making the trip and I will be going back for sure.

Excellent GIANT shrimp and veal milanese was superb...Spaghetti with black truffel was delightful, but too al dente. Could have been cooked more.

Really long wait (1 1/2 hours) but we were able to carry the pager around the block with us for drinks so the wait really was no bother. We both had pasta and it was top notch! Oh and the clam chowder, so good! We can't wait to go back.

my favorite restaurant on the westside - they are farm to table, family owned and most importantly delicious. they always have vegan and vegetarian options plus fish and steak for the meat eaters so everyone will be happy. the servers and staff are authentic, warm and neighborly. their wine selection is superb and ambiance lovely but warning if you like spirits, they are beer / wine only and do not have a full bar...

The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the food portions more than generous. A vegetarian and a young person were easily accommodated.

This spot simply knows how to satisfy their customers. Always with a nice demeanor. The food is reasonably priced, always fresh and clean.

Incredible servers and very nice atmosphere leaning towards the romantic setting... It can be busy and that may take away the special moment.. But in a not so crowded day it is a great venue. The food is of course italian all the way with no variations.. And even though they are know for the seafood i found my seafood pasta very run on the mill to even below par with the places and of course the prices... Cheap it is not.. My seafood was rubbery calamari with some undercooked mussels in a wine sauce.. The wine was really good though and overall the experience was OK..

The customer service is constantly rapid, awesome character, very welcoming employees. I will return again when I arrive in the area.

This is a very traditional Italian restaurant, a great find! My mother was from Florence and I've been to Italy many times. I ordered the minestrone soup to start. I was in Italy last December and I couldn't believe that the soup looked and tasted just like one I had in Italy! The photos attached are evidence this is an authentic restaurant. Great Pollo Parmigiana with veggies and roasted potatoes, again just like in Italy. Excellent service too. I know I'll be back!

Love this restaurant! Terrific service and the food is excellent. Would recommend the veal with artichoke, and the lemon sorbetto for dessert!

This place has excellent food! My wife showed me this place when we were first dating. It has now become our favorite place to go to for personal celebrations!

Lobster and fresh spaghetti special was incredible, highly recommend the whole menu and experience.

Authentic is the key word here! LA has some amazing food selections but finding authentic Italian food has been slightly more challenging. Until Caffe Pinguini! Everytime we go, it is always a warm, genuine, Italian welcome. The space is cozy and romantic. They have fixed menus during some holidays but great choices even then. The food is made with tradition and you can tell. Delicious!

The basic food tastes great. Don't bother with the expensive stuff. Great atmosphere and service. I ordered the truffle pasta which had no flavor. I had them take it back yet they refused to give me a refund on that item. That was really disappointing because it should have tasted amazing for $110. Had to argue just to get some money off and only wanted to offer a desert and $20 off.

They serve big portions and for reasonable pricing. super nice staff. Keep it up.

Been here several times with friends. Best Filet Miniogn ever had period. I had a lobster and clam dish that was perfect. This Is what Italian restaurants use to be Exellent food excellent service.

The best Italian food in Playa Del Rey

One of the best restaurants in PDR and almost always has available seating. Mushroom Risotto was about 8.5-9.0 tonight. Great Gorgonzola Rigatoni too.

Love little Italian restaurants like this, fully staffed and run by actual Italians. For being a restaurant right on the water, the prices are pretty reasonable.
